Andrew and Sophie both learnt some French at school and have taken the occasional holiday in a French-speaking country.

Sophie is currently teaching French to her class but does not yet feel able to deliver her lessons in French (sometimes referred to as the target language).

Andrew will be expected to teach French to his class in the near future but he doesn’t yet have the words, the techniques or the confidence to do so.

During the recordings Andrew and Sophie work together with two tutors who systematically develop their capacity to use the target language in the Key Stage 2 classroom. The tutors take over from each other at different points in the course.
